The Empty Quarter Gallery hosts successful auction with BESIX Foundation and Manzil

26 November 2017

On Saturday 18 November 2017, an auction took place at The Empty Quarter Fine Art Gallery in DIFC, in collaboration with BESIX Foundation, to raise proceeds for the students at Manzil.

The auction marked the end of a successful art project between BESIX Foundation and Manzil, where the students of Manzil created artworks using waste construction materials from BESIX.

This was also a chance for Manzil students to exhibit their artworks, and was attended by senior management from BESIX and the students and parents of Manzil. The art project was inspired and conceptualised by BESIX Foundation Ambassador Figen Kikki Keil, which began in early October. Art workshop sessions ran each week until mid-November, with the assistance of BESIX employees as volunteers.

During the auction, speeches were made by Mr. Pierre Sironval, Managing Director of Six Construct, Donatienne De Spirlet, Executive Officer of BESIX Foundation and a few students from Manzil.

The evening was a great success, and has not only raised proceeds for the students of Manzil, but also encouraged and brought to light the talents that the Manzil students hold.
