Hamad International Airport, formerly known as New Doha International Airport, is the home base of Qatar Airways. It is the region's second largest airport, with its infrastructure extending as far as eye can see over an area of 36 km² - two-thirds of the area of the city of Doha. It is the first to be able to host the giant Airbus A380. Every year more than 30 million passengers pass through its gates.

Strict quality specifications
The airport's new north node and its passenger terminal are the work of the Six Construct-Midmac joint venture. Its six floors include a transfer zone, embarkation and arrival areas, and a 100-room hotel. Concourse D & E of the terminal (3 floors, 128,000 m²) is also by the joint venture, which took responsibility for various civil engineering works, air conditioning installations and finishing, all to stringent quality specifications.
Special attention to the environment
To ensure user comfort in an environmentally responsible manner in a part of the world where temperatures regularly top 40°C, the entire terminal is equipped with heat and CO2 sensors.
